More Computer Science & Programming Bootcamps Coming in 2020

NewTechKids is pleased to announce that in 2020, we are expanding our line up of programs focused on teaching kids ages 7-12 about technological innovation. NewTechKids is pleased to continue its collaboration with the Amsterdam Public Library's Maakplaat 021 initiative to bring a combination of computer science, programming and digital fabrication (3D printing, laser cutting, etc.) education to kids. Introducing Nigerian Students to Programming

On June 4 and 5, 2019, NewTechKids organized an 'Intro to Programming' bootcamp in Amsterdam for 50 students from Lagos, Nigeria. We partnered with Metis Montessori Lyceum, a high school in Amsterdam which is one of the only high schools in the Netherlands to offer a specialized programming track. Today’s teaching experiences at the Beatrix School in Haarlem

NewTechKids spent the day in beautiful Haarlem, teaching students at the Beatrixschool. Our challenge: teaching students in two classes about programming in the context of automation with LEGO Mindstorms robots. NewTechKids heading to the United Arab Emirates

Carol Yarbrough joins NewTechKids as advisor

Super excited to welcome Carol Yarbrough as NewTechKids' latest teacher advisor. A high school computer science teacher, Carol is currently Computer Science Content Director at A+ College Ready in Alabama. She is also a College Board consultant who organises professional development for AP teachers through workshops and AP Summer Institutes. Before all this, she taught at the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham for 11 years. Carol graduated with a degree in Computational Mathematics
