NewTechKids is proud to announce that our non-profit arm, Stichting NewTechKids (NewTechKids Foundation), has launched a new online teacher training platform for primary school teachers around the world who want to introduce computer science, technological literacy and computational thinking to students ages 4-12.
Share to Teach, the online platform, has been developed by Stichting NewTechKids’ team of computer science education specialists, teachers and innovation experts especially for teachers.
The platform offers a variety of online training courses which provide teachers with an understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, pedagogy, teaching approaches and classroom management strategies as well as curriculum, lessons and teaching resources. Share to Teach’s training materials have been developed to help teachers integrate 21st century skills development and foster a technologist mindset amongst students.
Share to Teach is a vibrant community where teachers can share experiences in the classroom, feedback on lessons, and new ideas. Our courses cover the following themes related to computer science and technology development:
– systems
– programming
– resources
– requirements
– design and innovation
Currently, Share to Teach’s courses are being beta tested in private. A select group of primary school teachers from international schools and Dutch public schools across the Netherlands are helping us test our curriculum and lessons in a variety of classroom settings and improve our content while providing insight into teacher mindset and online peer support.
In the near future, we will offer a combination of fee-based courses and and mini free-of-charge courses based on idea exchange and co-creation.
The development and launch of Share to Teach has been made possible by a grant from Google Europe which supports a variety of computer science education initiatives across Europe.
Stay tuned. Please sign up to receive email alerts about Share to Teach’s upcoming courses.
