This Fall, Deborah Carter, NewTechKids’ Founder, will speak at two conferences about the future of learning and strategies to provide children, from a young age, with the technology education they need to thrive in the future.

She’ll head to Frankfurt, Germany from September 11 to 13 to speak at the me Convention, an annual event curated through a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and SXSW (South by Southwest). For its third edition, the event has evolved into a ‘future lab’ for exploring major issues and promising ideas for society, business, science and our planet. Under the motto #createthenew, the me Convention will bring together 2,000 curious, critical and engaged minds from across the globe. Deborah will speak during a session about new learning, sharing the stage with Deborah Papiernik, Senior Vice President of New Business Development, Technology and Strategic Alliances at Ubisoft, the gaming company behind ‘Assassin’s Creed’.

On October 30th, Deborah will speak during the WiT Regatta Amsterdam event which celebrates the work and achievements of women in tech. Her session, ‘Busting the Myth: Why Girls Don’t Participate in STEM and How to Cruise Ahead’, will explore whether the stereotype that girls are less interested or less likely to pursue studies in STEM/ technology is true or not. The audience will discuss where this stereotype comes from and what can we do to make STEM more appealing to them.
