A high school teacher since 2007, Carol is currently Computer Science Content Director at A+ College Ready, a high school in Alabama where she specializes in teaching computing in the arts. Before this, she taught at the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham, Alabama for 11 years. She graduated with a degree in Computational Mathematics and worked in just about every aspect of the computer industry before becoming a teacher.
Carol is also a College Board consultant, responsible for facilitating professional development for AP teachers through workshops and AP Summer Institutes. She has been involved for the past several years as a Teacher Leader with the CS4Alabama project. CS4Alabama is training in-service teachers in Alabama to teach the CS Principles course. Like the NewTechKids team, Carol enjoys working with bright and creative people and the satisfaction of knowing that her work matters.
