Summer bootcamp: Discover Computer Science for 7-12 years

During this week-long summer bootcamp of five (5) daily workshops, kids ages 7-12 will learn the core concepts which define computer science and programming. Concepts covered will include input/output, parts working together, feedback, computational thinking, algorithms and sequences, data (numbers and Booleans), variables and collections, loops, event handling, design and testing.

Kids will explore these concepts through a mix of pen and paper exercises, arts and crafts, games, designing and programming LEGO Mindstorms robots, and other activities. To help them develop their collaboration skills, they will work in small teams for most of the activities.

The workshops will be taught in a combination of English and Dutch. All NewTechKids teachers are professionally-trained, primary school teachers with training in pedagogy, computer science theory and classroom management.

Workshops will take place from 10:00 – 12:00 on the following dates:
– August 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19, 2016

Children will receive a snack and drinks during each workshop.
