Fall 2022 Friday Aft. Bootcamp: 8-12 Years (6 workshops)

During this NewTechKids after-school bootcamp (6 weeks) on Friday afternoons, kids ages 8-12 will design, build and code a series of robots and tech prototypes based on their own ideas. The bootcamp will take place at the Amsterdam Public Library near Centraal Station. They’ll learn about design concepts (resources, requirements, testing, iteration, best practices) and computer science concepts (coding, algorithms, commands, loops, sequence, iteration, if-else logic, etc.). During each class, they’ll discuss inspiring examples of technology before completing challenges in pairs and presenting their prototypes. 

The workshop will be taught in a combination of English and Dutch by a native Dutch-speaking teacher with specialised training in computer science. The curriculum and lesson are based on NewTechKids’ pedagogy which focuses on concept-context learning and the use of tangible learning tools.
