‘Discover Computer Science’: 7 and 8 year olds (Almere)

During this bootcamp of ten (10) weekly workshops at Letterland International School in Almere, kids ages 7 and 8 will learn the core concepts which define computer science and programming. Concepts covered will include input/output, parts working together, feedback, computational thinking, algorithms and sequences, data (numbers and Booleans), variables and collections, loops, event handling, design and testing.

Kids will explore these concepts through a mix of pen and paper exercises, arts and crafts, games, programming LEGO Mindstorms robots, and other activities.

The bootcamp will be taught in English and is open to all children, not only children who attend Letterland International School.

Location: Letterland International School, A. Roland Holststraat 58 in Almere. The bootcamp will take place in the Main Building, ICT Lab on the first floor (unit 4, 5 and 6 NL).

Workshops will take place on Wednesdays from 12:30 – 14:00 on the following dates:
– February 10, 17, 24
– March 9, 16, 23, 30
– April 6, 13, 20

A minimum number of 12 students is required to offer this bootcamp. If an insufficient amount of children register, registrants will be notified one week prior if the bootcamp will be cancelled and receive a full refund.
