This summer, many children and their families have curtailed their holiday plans or decided to remain in the Netherlands due to COVID-19.

Because of this, NewTechKids will be teaching two, additional summer camps at the Amsterdam Public Library for kids ages 7-12. Register now for a spot.

July 27-31: Division Q Spy Agency
During this weeklong summer camp, kids ages 7-12 will become members of Division Q, a secret spy organization of technologists who design, build and program robots and spy gadgets.

August 3-7: Robots Playing Games
During this weeklong summer camp, kids ages 7-12 will build, design and program robots which can play traditional games before designing their own robot game, complete with rules, strategies and point systems. Please note: this is NOT an online game design course!

August 4-10: Tech Creators to the Rescue
During this weeklong summer camp, kids ages 7-12 will become tech inventors who create robots and tech prototypes to use in different fields, from sports to farming, construction, art and more.

Kids will dive into building and visual programming using LEGO WeDo or LEGO Mindstorms and art supplies. They’ll learn about technology systems, design concepts (resources, requirements, testing, iteration, best practices) and computer science concepts (algorithms, commands, loops, sequence, iteration, if-else logic, etc.).

During each class, they’ll discuss inspiring examples of technology before completing design and programming challenges in pairs and presenting their prototypes.

Children who successfully complete the camp will receive a certificate of achievement.

The camps will be taught in a combination of English and Dutch by a professional teacher with specialised training in computer science.

We are following the health and safety protocols mandated by the Dutch government.

Register now to keep your child’s brain active and to help them build foundational technology creation skills!
