‘Program Your Own Personal Robot’ Challenge: 7-9 years

During this workshop, children continued to explore the basics of programming and automation by adding in the concepts of parameters and composition. Children were asked to imagine a customized robot which reflects one of their interests or hobbies such as football, ballet, flowers, etc. Each child created a program (using pen and paper) which guided their robot through an obstacle course relevant to their interest or hobby. The classes ended with team presentations and a discussion on what the children learned in terms of successes, failures, design and testing.
