May Vacation: LEGO Mindstorms & Visual Programming – 7-12 Years

During this four-day bootcamp during the April/May school vacation, kids ages 7-12 will receive a solid introduction to coding and the logic, composition and key concepts behind it.

Over the course of four daily workshops, kids will use LEGO Mindstorms to to design robots and program them using a visual programming language (icon-based, drag and drop coding). Each workshop will be structured around a fun challenge completed by kids working in small teams. Kids will learn about coding concepts such as algorithms, sequences, loops and event handling.

The workshops will be taught in a combination of English and Dutch. All NewTechKids teachers are professionally-trained, primary school teachers with training in computer science theory, pedagogy and classroom management.

Workshops will take place daily from 10:00 – 12:00 on the following dates:
– May 2, 3, 4, 6, 2016 (Ascension Day on May 5th is a holiday so no workshop will be given)

A minimum number of 12 students is required to offer this bootcamp. Registrants will be notified one week prior if the bootcamp is cancelled and will receive a full refund.
