Fall 2016 Computer Science Bootcamp (15 Weeks): 10-12 years

During this bootcamp of fifteen (15) weekly workshops, kids ages 10-12 will learn the basics of computer science and how to use the thinking and problem-solving models behind it. We’ll be offering brand new lessons which emphasize creativity and integrate arts and maker education. The bootcamp will integrate a mix of pen and paper activities, games, and technology tools. Kids will begin by learning about hardware, computers and how they work before making the link to software, programming and coding. The course will end with children understanding key computer science concepts and how to solve problems by designing and programming LEGO Mindstorm robots.

NewTechKids promotes bilingual education and our workshops will be taught in a combination of Dutch and English.

The bootcamp is ideal for children with no previous exposure to computer science and children who have already attended NewTechKids bootcamps.

Workshops will take place on Thursdays from 16:15 – 17:45 on the following dates:
– September 8, 15, 22, 29
– October 6, 13, 27 (no class on October 20th due to the Fall school vacation)
– November 3, 10, 17, 24
