Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Bootcamp: 10-12 Years

What do R2D2, Wall-E, Transformers and Halo have in common with self-driving cars and Netflix recommendations? They’re all examples of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

NewTechKids invites kids ages 10-12 to join our AI bootcamp during the Fall school vacation (October 17, – 21, 2016) at the Amsterdam Municipal Library. During this week-long bootcamp of five daily workshops, kids will learn what AI is, how it works, how it’s being used in different industries, and the pros and cons of this technology.

Participants will explore AI through computer science concepts such as machine learning, algorithms, programming, automation and robots. What is machine intelligence? Can we control it? Should we be afraid of it or can it be used for good?

The bootcamp will include games, pen and paper activities, and designing and programming with LEGO Mindstorms.

The bootcamp’s workshops will take place daily during the Herfstvakantie (Fall school holiday) from 10:00 – 12:00 on the following dates:
– October 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 2016

NewTechKids promotes bilingual education and our workshops will be taught in a combination of Dutch and English.

The bootcamp is ideal for children with no previous exposure to computer science.

A minimum of 12 students is required to offer this bootcamp. Registrants will be notified one week prior if the bootcamp is cancelled and a full refund will be provided.
